What to Bring

Please limit personal belongings to one small bag. All items will be reviewed by staff at admission for safety and compliance.

Identification & Essentials

  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Insurance card (if applicable)
  • A written list of emergency contacts and important phone numbers
  • Current prescribed medications only, in original pharmacy-labeled bottles (no loose pills or pill organizers)

Clothing (3–5 days’ worth)

  • Comfortable, modest clothing (no offensive graphics)
  • Undergarments and socks
  • Sleepwear
  • Closed-toe shoes or slippers with backs
  • Light sweater or jacket
  • Washer and dryer are available for use during your stay

Personal Hygiene (new/unopened only)

  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Hairbrush or comb
  • Deodorant (non-aerosol)
  • Shampoo and body wash
  • Feminine hygiene products (if applicable)
  • Razors are permitted but must be checked out from staff and returned after use

Other Items

  • Glasses or contact lenses with case and solution 
  • Simple reading materials or a journal 
  • Pre-approved over-the-counter medications (only if cleared by staff)
  • Tobacco products and vaping devices are allowed but must be in original, sealed packaging

What NOT to Bring

The following items are not permitted and will be secured or disposed of upon admission if brought:

Prohibited Items

  • Drugs, alcohol, or any mood-altering substances
  • Weapons of any kind (including pocketknives, scissors, etc.)
  • Over-the-counter medications (unless pre-approved by staff)
  • Clothing with drug/alcohol references, profanity, or inappropriate graphics
  • Aerosol sprays or products containing alcohol (including mouthwash)
  • Outside food and beverages

Restricted Personal Items

  • No electronics (phones, tablets, laptops, smartwatches, headphones, etc.)
  • No personal pillows, blankets, or linens – these are provided
  • No blow dryers, flat irons, or curling irons
  • Cash exceeding $20
  • Jewelry or valuables (we cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items)

Additional Information:

All belongings will be searched during admission.

Non-permitted items will be securely stored and returned upon discharge, unless deemed unsafe.

Phone calls may be made through staff as clinically appropriate during your stay.
